Elsie MacRae lives in Arusha. Originally from the Highlands of Scotland, she has lived and worked in S E Asia, Europe and Africa over the last two decades. She was for many years a lecturer in adult education until a passion for alternative health therapies took over and she qualified as a UK-registered homeopath.
Between 2002 and 2005 she established a practice in Tarifa in southern Spain.
Her experience in education and enthusiasm for homeopathy combine well. She runs courses on the practical application of natural remedies in the home.
In 2000 she began practising Reiki, becoming a Reiki Master in 2003. In addition to offering Reiki treatment for the individual she also runs Reiki attunement workshops here in Arusha.
She has a wide interest in all manner of healing; including the use of flower essences, particularly Dr Bach's and Australian Living Essences, in tissue salts and herbs.
Her latest project is to explore the potential of indigenous African plants and how their healing properties can be transformed into homeopathic medicine.
